How the platforms compare.
| What you’re doing | Showit | Squarespace |
|---|---|---|
| Building pages | A canvas editor with separate desktop and mobile designs. | Fluid Engine uses a grid, with separately editable mobile arrangements. |
| Writing a blog | Blog plans use WordPress hosted by Showit. The website-only plan has no blog. | Blog pages and posts are built into the website editor. |
| Adding enquiry forms | Native contact forms or an embedded form from another service. | Native form blocks with submission storage, notifications and export. |
| Using extra blog plugins | Additional custom WordPress plugins require the Advanced blog plan. | Review the built-in tools and supported integrations for what you need. |
| Editing for search | Page titles, descriptions, image descriptions and WordPress blog tools. | SEO titles, descriptions, alt text and other built-in controls. |
Both let you edit mobile layouts. Budget time to open your actual pages on a phone, whichever you choose.

Questions photographers ask.
Is Showit or Squarespace better for wedding photographers?
Showit is more common among the wedding photographers in our sample. The useful choice for your business also depends on how you want to design, blog and handle enquiries.
Can I edit the mobile design on both?
Yes. Showit has separate desktop and mobile designs. Squarespace Fluid Engine also lets you rearrange a mobile layout separately.
Does Showit include WordPress?
Its blog plans use WordPress hosted by Showit. The website-only plan excludes blogging, and the Advanced blog plan is needed for extra plugins.
